Dr Adam Rutherford

Dr. Adam Rutherford is a scientist, author, and award-winning broadcaster. Known for his BBC Radio 4 work, he advocates for equality, diversity, and inclusion. His bestselling books, including "How to Argue with a Racist," challenge racist rhetoric using scientific data. He lectures globally and teaches at University College London.

About Dr. Julia Jones

A pre-eminent and award-winning broadcaster, Adam is a regular on BBC Radio 4. He often presents Start the Week and his popular series The Curious Case of Rutherford and Fry was on air for a decade.

An advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion, Adam’s talks, along with his internationally bestselling book How to Argue with a Racist, challenge racist rhetoric with hard scientific data to show how science and history is a powerful ally against bigotry.

He brilliantly debunks stereotypes and highlights the dangers of unconscious bias, to help us all play our part in eradicating discrimination.

Adam has given many prestigious lectures around the world, and spoken at the British Film Institute, the Hay Festival, and the Cheltenham Literary and Science Festivals, among many others.

Adam is the best-selling author of Creation;  A Brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived; The Book of Humans; How to Argue with a Racist; Control: The Dark History and Troubling Present of Eugenics, and most recently a children’s nonfiction book on race, genealogy and evolution called Where Are You Really From?

Adam is a lecturer in Biology and Science at University College, London.
