Aggie MacKenzie
Aggie MacKenzie is a television presenter and journalist, best known for co-presenting C4’s highly popular ‘How Clean is Your House?’ with Kim Woodburn, which amassed over 4 million viewers. With many TV presenting credits under her belt, Aggie is available for corporate speaking work and event hosting.
About Aggie MacKenzie
Aggie is hailed as the queen of cleaning remedies for household spots and stains. ‘How Clean is Your House’ was an exceptionally successful reality show which saw Aggie MacKenzie and co-host Kim Woodburn snoop around filthy homes and expose their deepest, dirtiest corners.
Aggie MacKenzie rose to fame in August 2002 when she was asked if she would like to be considered for a TV series. At the screen test she was introduced to Kim and the rest, she says, is history. The programme was so successful that it ran for six series – plus two in the U.S. – and is now broadcast internationally, from Norway to Namibia.
Born in Rothiemurchus, Aviemore, in 1955, Aggie left in 1973 to study to be a bilingual secretary in Aberdeen. Following this, she began work for the Foreign Office in London. On her first day, it was revealed that she was actually at MI6. Never afraid of a challenge, Aggie agreed to stay and took on her first Miss Moneypenny role. She was offered an overseas post after two years but felt that embassy life was not for her. Instead, she left to embark on a career in women’s magazines, which in turn led her to becoming head of the Good Housekeeping Magazine Insititute.
As well as presenting ‘How Clean is Your House?’ Aggie has made appearances on numerous television shows, from cooking programmes to celebrity quiz shows. She has appeared frequently on shows such as Breakfast News, GMTV, This Morning and The One Show. She also presented 50 episodes of Storage Hunters on ITV, a show which investigated the increasing demand for storage units and the strain that long-term storage can have on finances and relationships.
As the author of multiple books, Aggie has turned her hand to writing everything from family cookbooks to cleaning bibles. She writes a number of regular columns on food and travel in national publications including My Weekly, Delicious and Sainsbury’s magazine.
She is a judge each year at both the Great Taste awards and the Academy of Chocolate awards.
Aggie is a keen runner and cyclist, and regularly does yoga and pilates. She has cycled across Kenya in aid of Women Against Cancer, London to Paris on behalf of Mind, and London to Brighton for Macmillan.
Aggie speaks candidly about everything from clutter and caregiving to menopause and mental health. Audiences love her thoughtful, funny, and deeply practical approach to life’s literal and emotional messes.
