Celebrating Channel Islands Pride with Twayna Mayne

For those unfamiliar with Channel Islands Pride, this annual event is a spirited celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community across the Channel Islands. Twayna Mayne, a passionate advocate for both the LGBTQIA+ and Black and mixed communities, was the perfect choice to open the Pride celebrations. With a keynote speech that deeply resonated with attendees, she emphasised the importance of Pride and the intersectionality of lived experiences of queerness and blackness. It was a speech that touched hearts and inspired many to continue the fight for equality. Later, she lit up the Pride after party with her stand-up comedy set, spreading laughter and joy in her unique style.
