Nick Knowles is laced with an appealing and infectious sense of humour and an extraordinary strength as an innovator. He has sought to present a variety of programmes, proving himself to be a versatile presenter on shows such as; 5’s Company, Straight Up, The Great Escape, City Hospital, Find a Fortune and Holidaymaker before appearing on BBC’s hit show DIY SOS, which has been consistently the most popular factual programme on TV.
Nick Knowles started his TV career at the BBC in London in the Documentary Features department. He then spent two years in Australia working for WIN TV channel 4 newsroom. He travelled to America to work in news in Phoenix Arizona before returning to the UK and to the ITV TVS newsroom in Maidstone. Later Nick moved to the newsroom of Meridian Broadcasting as Production Editor and reporter. He even appeared as a contestant in the 2018 ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’
His show DIY SOS is one of the most popular shows on television. 2015 saw the biggest build yet, where the team took on a whole street in Manchester and turned run-down empty properties into homes for service veterans who are suffering from PTSD. The team of volunteers were boosted by a visit from Princes William and Harry.
Aside from DIY and Building, Nick has also regularly presented various Saturday night quiz shows (Judgemental, Who Dares Wins, Perfection and 5 Star Family Reunion have added to Nick’s broad range of shows).
Whether he’s mucking in with the real builders on DIY SOS, getting suited and booted as the suave host of his Saturday night quiz shows, or filming emotionally gruelling scenes in rural Zambia for Sports Relief; Nick’s versatility is evident.
