About Ewan Lacey

Ewan Lacey is a charismatic and knowledgeable wine and drinks expert, known for his engaging speaking style and ability to bring his specialist subject to life. With a career spanning restaurants, international wine judging, and media appearances, Ewan is a highly sought-after host and speaker at live events and corporate gatherings.

Ewan’s passion for the drinks industry began early, with his first (albeit explosive) attempt at brewing beer during his school days. After studying law, he worked in restaurants and bars across Mexico, Israel, Austria, Denmark, and Scotland, gaining hands-on experience and a deep appreciation for global food and drink cultures.

His career took a significant turn when he joined the International Wine and Spirit Competition, overseeing the tasting and promotion of over 10,000 spirits and forging strong connections with industry leaders. Relocating to London, Ewan managed West End restaurants before moving into consultancy, where he developed wine lists and trained sommeliers for some of the capital’s top restaurants and luxury hotels.

A natural communicator, Ewan has appeared on The Gaby Roslin Show, Channel 4’s The Cookery School, and at high-profile live events including the BBC Good Food Show. Whether delivering a keynote, hosting a tasting, or designing unforgettable wine experiences, Ewan captivates audiences with his charm, humour, and deep expertise.
