As chief futurist and director at a venture capital firm, she helps to build breakthrough deep science startups to advance innovation in medicine, food, energy and sustainability to benefit humanity.

Biography

Elsa Sotiriadis has international PhD in synthetic biology from Imperial College London and Hong Kong University, for which she founded a ‘cancer moonshot’ project on programmable DNA as anticancer agents.

Elsa previously worked in finance in London and as analyst for disruptive innovation technologies in Vienna with a focus on digital biology, artificial intelligence and zero-carbon smart cities.

She co-lead a futurism case study and provided strategic advisory to governments and companies how emerging technologies are transforming the world.

In her spare time, Elsa writes science fiction, with one work becaming a #8 UK Amazon Bestseller. She has also published critically acclaimed poetry and her maintstream work has been featured in publications like Singularity Hub.

She has won multiple awards, including from MIT and the Swiss Academy of Sciences.
