About Dr Kwame Asante

Kwame’s comedy journey began in 2010, quickly earning him recognition as a finalist in the Leicester Square New Comedian Of The Year competition. He won the Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year award in 2012 and was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Awards. His talents have taken him across the UK and internationally, performing in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Australia. Kwame’s TV and radio credits include a BBC Radio 4 pilot in 2019.

When he’s not making people laugh, Kwame works as an A&E doctor in Birmingham and is a proud member of both the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. His critically acclaimed 2022 Edinburgh Fringe show, Living In Sin, led to a nationwide tour with his best-of show In Stitches.

Kwame brings an engaging mix of humour, intelligence, and charm to any event, whether hosting an awards ceremony or delivering a stand-up performance.
