Nina Nannar is best know for covering all the arts and media stories – she covers the Oscars in LA and the Golden Globes, has interviewed all the major screen stars with exclusives including Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, and Jude Law.  She has also taken part in a number of celebrity programmes for ITV – including a programme about the Beckhams, footballers behaving badly, celebrity endorsed religions, and the pitfalls of showbusiness reporting.  General news stories include a trip to Georgia in the former Soviet Union with a survivor of the July 7th bombings to look at health provision for those caught up in the civil war and the 60th anniversary of independence celebrations of India and Pakistan.

Nina started out in the BBC as a trainee. There her broadcast experience involved BBC radio, both locally and nationally – she presented 3 series of ‘Asian Perspective’, a live news and current affairs programme on 5 Live, and she presented and reported on Midlands Today, and co-hosted the quiz show ‘Q- Asia’ on BBC2. Whilst at the BBC she covered the Royal Shakespeare Company’s tour of New York and performed with Birmingham Royal Ballet (for charity)!  Nina also hosted ‘Artsfest’, the country’s biggest free arts festival, and presented on the BBC’s first ‘Music Live’ event, and its Millennium Night coverage.

She is an Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust and for Sense International and for 6 years was a Governor at Staffordshire University. In 2007 she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University for services to the media.  She is also a visiting Fellow at Gloucestershire University, and a Patron of DanceEast, alongside the likes of Darcey Bussell and Adam Cooper, which is a project to create a dance centre for the East of England. Nina is a judge for the ‘What the Papers Say Awards’ made by Granada, and the Rushes London Short Film Festival. She also works closely with a charity aimed at tackling bullying and knife crime amongst young people. She has a wealth of experience hosting conferences and awards ceremonies.
