About Bruno Tonioli

Bruno Tonioli joined Strictly Come Dancing as an inaugural judge back in 2004. His professional eye and enthusiastic encouragements have seen him do his iconic leap from the chair in excitement on many an occasion. Honest, engaging and charming, audiences are guaranteed an memorable evening with Bruno at the centre.

Bruno Tonioli began his career as a dancer, initially coming to London as a performer with Paris based company ‘La Grande Eugene.’ The transition from freelance dancer to choreographer happened when he was offered the opportunity to work with Pamela Stephenson and Not The Nine O’clock News. His work in the music business took off astoundingly when he began choreographing music videos and stage shows for names such as Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones and Elton John to name but a few.

Outside of the dancefloor, the Italian in Bruno is unleashed in the kitchen. He is an enthusiastic cook, and even launched his own range of Italian inspired cookware on QVC.

It was undoubtable that the story of Bruno’s life and career be published as a book, and in 2012 his autobiography ‘My Story’ was released.

Bruno has fronted multiple documentaries, including West Side Stories alongside Suzy Klein, and a documentary celebrating the iconic culture phenomenon Saturday Night Fever made for BBC2.
