James May

James May has many interests and aside from being challenged to do some of the craziest motoring tasks by his co hosts, he is into toys, wine and space. Indulging his love of all things engineering, scientific and nostalgic, he has a YouTube channel, which is a mix of science, technology and humour, and he maintains his passion for cars which are either very posh or very basic as well as motorbikes.

James May, famed for presenting  BBC2’s hugely successful motoring show, Top Gear. In 2007 James presented James May’s 20th Century also for BBC2. James has also co-presented 2 series of Oz & James’s Big Wine Adventure, which features them traveling through France and California trying to learn all things wine. The show became highly popular for their questionably sober bickering and bantering, resulting in a 3rd series called ‘OZ and James Drink to Britain’.

To add to his impressive list of shows, the ever in demand presenter released the TV series; ‘James May’s Toy Stories’ later this year. In this show he is featured on the Chelsea Flower Show with his ‘Paradise in Plasticine’ and designing, building and living in a two-storey Lego house for one weekend which even comes supplied with electricity and plumbing – including a fully working toilet made of Lego.

He is a sought after motoring journalist writing for Top Gear Magazine and The Daily Telegraph and has contributed over the years to Car Magazine, The Scotsman, Country Life and various technology and travel titles.

James has also done extensive broadcast work and been a regular radio and TV presenter, including Breakfast TV, BBC Radio 2, The Boat Show, ITV1, as well as branching into the world of music as co-host in January 2006 on BBC2’s ‘Top of the Pops’.

In 2016, he  moved to Amazon Prime alongside his fellow former Top Gear presenters, where the premiere of their new motoring show, ‘The Grand Tour’ broke streaming records of all previous Amazon shows.
