About Victoria Derbyshire

Victoria Derbyshire has covered some of the most pertinent news stories of our time, including the Grenfell Tower fire disaster, 9/11, and the Manchester terror attack of 2017. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, Victoria famously recorded video diaries to document and demystify her journey as a cancer patient. Her video diaries have been viewed over 12 million times and she remains a huge advocate of this cause.

Victoria spent sixteen years presenting her own news and current affairs show on BBC Radio 5 Live show that was nominated for Sony Awards in 2007 and 2008, and in 2010 won a silver award for Best News and Current Affairs Programme. In addition, Victoria herself was awarded a Silver for Speech Broadcaster of the Year.

She is a regular on ITV1’s Lorraine, and reports for BBC1 on The One Show and Watchdog. Victoria’s other television presenting credits include SportTalk (Channel 4), Late Night London (Carlton), Central Weekend (Central TV) and The Club (BBC One). She has also appeared on The Apprentice: You’re Fired (BBC One) and Faking It (Channel 4).

Until 2004 Victoria was co-presenter of Five Live Breakfast (BBC Radio Five Live) which picked up the Sony Gold award for Best Breakfast Programme both in 1999 and 2002.

Passionate about raising awareness of the disease itself Victoria took to the stage to bare all in The Real Full Monty: Ladies’ Night on ITV to raise money for breast cancer charities.
