About Simon Jack
Simon Jack is the BBC’s Business Editor, delivering reporting and analysis on the biggest business, economic and financial stories across the corporation’s television, radio and digital news platforms. Known for his approachable style and ability to make complex subjects accessible, he has become one of the UK’s most recognisable business broadcasters.
Alongside his role as Business Editor, Simon is also a presenter and correspondent on Radio 4’s flagship Today programme. He previously became widely known as the face of business news on BBC Breakfast, and has also presented across the BBC’s One, Six and Ten O’Clock News programmes.
Before joining the BBC, Simon spent a decade working in commercial and investment banking in London, New York and Bermuda, giving him firsthand experience of the global financial sector. He later moved into journalism, joining the BBC’s Business and Economics Unit and reporting for programmes including Today and Wake Up to Money. He has also presented business and finance podcasts for The Daily Telegraph.
Simon played a prominent role in the BBC’s coverage of the global financial crisis, reporting on major events including the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the bailout of AIG, the takeover of HBOS and the US government intervention in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Having interviewed leading figures from business, politics and finance, Simon brings deep insight into markets, leadership, economics and global affairs. As a keynote speaker and conference host, he combines expertise, humour and clarity, making him a popular choice for corporate events, industry conferences and awards ceremonies.
