About Lizzie Daly

Ebullient, joyful, and bursting with positive energy, Lizzie is a wildlife enthusiast and scientist, who can speak and inspire on a range of topics from sustainability and the environment to being a woman working in STEM.

Lizzie is brilliant at encouraging people to get outside, while sharing tales of her own exploits and adventures, and reminding us just how important this is for our mental and physical health.

Whatever the subject or audience, Lizzie expert knowledge of wildlife and upbeat personality never fail to leave their mark.

As a marine expert Lizzie has featured in numerous films for The One Show (BBC One) and 2023 will see the release of two major new productions with the Love Nature / Sky Nature channels. In Jaguar Journals, Lizzie uses new technology to uncover exciting insights into animal behaviour and in Deep Down Under Lizzie takes audiences on an epic marine road trip across Australia.

An experienced host and compere, in 2023 Lizzie hosted the prestigious annual IFAW awards ceremony in London. In 2022, she hosted the Panda Awards at Wildscreen and, prior to this, interviewed over 40 people – including Al Gore and Lewis Pugh – as part of the COP26 ‘COPTV’ series.

Other film credits include Solved, Nature’s Greatest Mysteries (Animal Planet), Weatherman Walking (BBC One), Curious Creatures (BBC Two) and Winterwatch (BBC Two). Live broadcasting credits include hosting National Geographic LIVE Meet the Expert; BBC Live Lessons; Winterwatch LIVE and Blue Planet LIVE Lessons.

A keen kayaker, climber, diver and runner, Lizzie loves getting outside and challenging herself both mentally and physically. She completed a 140km solo run in the Finnish Arctic Circle and circumnavigated the UK documenting and sharing her encounters with extraordinary marine life – the film of her diving in Cornwall alongside a giant barrel jellyfish went viral.

A conservationist with a determination to care for our oceans and protect our wild spaces, Lizzie is an ambassador for the Marine Conservation Society; the Jane Goodall Institute UK; the first ever female patron of ORCA and an ambassador for the Norwich Science Festival.

Lizzie has a BSc in Animal Behaviour, an MSc in Biological Sciences and is currently working towards her PhD – using tag technology to study movements and better understand African elephant behaviour.
