About Lady Ann Foley

Ann Foley is an engaging and interesting speaker.  As a much travelled Army wife who was born in India and has lived in Hereford, London, Berlin, Cyprus, Londonderry and Hong Kong. She relished the appointment of Governor’s wife when her husband Lieutenant General Sir John Foley became the Governor of Guernsey in 2000.

Ann now enjoys talking about her fascinating life in A Soldier’s Wife, also she reveals what it is really like when royalty comes to stay in her talk Having the Queen to Stay.  She is also keen to talk about her mother’s life in Champagne with Mother, who when her father died recently, revealed that she had been married before, had a child and been a Japanese prisoner of War in Hong Kong in WWII.  What happened to her mother (who died aged 103) makes uplifting and tragic listening.
