Dame Arlene Phillips is a globally renowned choreographer, director, presenter, and much-loved television personality with a career spanning over four decades. From the stage to the screen, Arlene’s influence on dance and entertainment is profound, with credits including We Will Rock You, Starlight Express, Grease, and Annie, alongside high-profile collaborations with music legends such as Elton John, Queen and Aretha Franklin.
She rose to fame in the late 1970s as the creative force behind the trailblazing dance group Hot Gossip, and has since worked across film, television, theatre, fashion, and large-scale live events. Arlene has choreographed over 100 commercials and directed major stage shows from Saturday Night Fever to Lord of the Dance. She served as a long-time judge on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and Strictly Dance Fever, and remains a beloved presence on UK television.
