Peter Slack

As a 3rd generation farmer, Peter Slacks roots are deeply planted in farming dairy cattle and sheep. Alongside his wife Sylvia, and their children Matthew, Lydia, and Samuel,  they epitomise the essence of family hill farming. Their loyal Border Collie, Meg, also plays a pivotal role in their day-to-day life.

Peter’s journey into after dinner speaking started after his involvement with the local young farmers club, a place of significance where he met Sylvia. His natural flair for engaging and amusing audiences led him to do several speaking competitions within the National Young Farmers Movement. His gift for eliciting laughter was soon recognised, marking the inception of his speaking career with an invitation to be the guest speaker at a local dinner.

Since then, Peter’s unique approach to speaking, characterised by his sharp observational humor and the ability to vividly bring to life the countryside and its quirky inhabitants, has captivated audiences nationwide. From village halls to prestigious venues like The Great Hall at St John’s College, Cambridge, his talks resonate with individuals from all walks of life, appealing to mixed, all-female, and all-male audiences alike.

Peter’s extensive client list boasts engagements at numerous luncheon clubs, Rotary Charter Dinners, and notable events including the Sheffield Law Society Annual Dinner, North Staffs RICS Annual Dinner, and The British Equestrian Federation World Class Performers Dinner. Highlighting his versatility and appeal, Tarmac engaged him as the guest speaker for a celebratory luncheon attended by HRH The Princess Royal, on the occasion of the official opening of a new £150 million cement plant.
