About Clara Durodié

Clara advises Boards of leading financial institutions, as well as think tanks, governments and academic institutions, and mentors AI startups on governance, funding and growth strategy. She has consistently been named on global lists of leading women in fintech and has held influential roles shaping best practice, including serving as Chair of the UK Non-Executive Directors Board’s Special Committee on Best Practice for AI Adoption and as a member of the IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems in the United States.

Her policy and advisory work includes advising the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group for Artificial Intelligence, Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ Special Commission on Artificial Intelligence, and membership of the European Union Artificial Intelligence Alliance. This rare combination of commercial, regulatory and geopolitical insight makes Clara a sought-after voice at global forums.

She has also addressed senior academic audiences at London Business School, speaking to delegates from institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT and Cambridge, and has been invited as a guest lecturer at the University of Oxford’s Executive MBA, MIT, and London Business School. She also taught on the inaugural Oxford Artificial Intelligence course, organised by the University of Oxford.

Clara is the author of Decoding AI in Financial Services: Business Implications for Boards and Professionals, the first guidebook on AI in financial services written specifically for C-suite leaders and Boards. The book has been widely acclaimed, translated into Japanese in 2022, and its second edition published in London in 2024. She also writes Decoding AI® Briefing, a respected digital publication launched in 2016 that remains a pre-eminent, objective source on the business, governance and geopolitics of AI in financial services.

Her academic research interests sit at the intersection of neuroscience, artificial intelligence and investment management. Prior to 2014, Clara held senior leadership roles in European asset and wealth management. She is a member of the National Association of Certified Directors (US) and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK), holds a Certificate in Investment Management, and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford.

As a speaker, Clara is valued for her intellectual rigour, strategic clarity and board-level relevance, helping organisations navigate AI with confidence, responsibility and long-term vision.
