Speaker
The first ever winner of Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year from outside North America, Fraser Doherty MBE has been selling his Superjam at farmers markets and delicatessens since he was a youngster. Now 29, he has won contracts with almost all of the major UK supermarkets and is selling millions of jars a year. He also runs a hugely successful project that provides tea parties for lonely elderly people all over the UK.
"At a recently launched new programme for young professionals who were setting themselves up in business, Fraser attended their induction day to tell his story of what he had learned in his career so far that could perhaps help them. His engaging and humorous delivery style kept his audience engaged and prompted a lot of discussion and questions that Fraser was able to give some useful guidance to help them on their own career journey. We have had great feedback and the young professional group were left inspired to pursue their own business plans, whilst understanding that it was important to keep a clear goal as to what it was they wanted to achieve".

Read more about Fraser Doherty MBE
Fraser Doherty MBE, 26, is the founder of the phenomenally successful 100% fruit jam company, ‘SuperJam’. After learning his grandmother's jam recipes at the age of 14, Fraser set off on an incredible adventure - at first selling his homemade jam at farmers' markets, then ultimately to over 2,000 supermarkets around the world. His brand launched nationally in Waitrose in 2007 and has since gone on to sell millions of jars through thousands of stores around the world. In his humorous and light hearted talks, Fraser shares the ups and downs of getting people to believe in his idea and motivating himself to keep going when things didn't work out first time around. The company that he founded, SuperJam, has sold many millions of jars around the world, has won more than 20 innovation and design awards. SuperJam invests some of its profits in running hundreds of free tea parties for the elderly. Fraser's books have sold around 100,000 copies in the UK, South Korea and Japan.
The SuperJam story shows that it is possible to reinvent any everyday product. Fraser gives hope to companies and entrepreneurs trying to innovate within established markets and his success offers encouragement to young entrepreneurs trying to get their ideas off the ground. He also regularly lectures Entrepreneurship at universities around the world, including London Met. where he is their youngest ever Visiting Professor. Fraser has been commended by the Prime Minister at Downing Street, by HRH Prince Charles and was recently awarded a medal (MBE) “for services to business” by The Queen.
Fraser has spoken for a wide range of companies both in the UK and abroad such as Barclays, Cadbury's, O2, Nintendo, IBM, BAE Systems, HSBC, Accenture, the NHS, BBC, Asda, Itsu, Allianz, the IoD, the CIPD, British Chambers of Commerce, Bank of England, Scottish Parliament and Colombia University to name a few all giving impeccable feedback. SuperJam is exhibited in the National Museum of Scotland and Fraser's story was recently made into a hilarious dramatised re-enactment in Japan. His story cannot fail to put a smile on audiences faces and motivate them to never be afraid of giving their own ideas a shot.
