About Sammy Woodhouse
As a young girl of just 14, Sammy faced criminal and sexual exploitation at the hands of child grooming gang leader, Arshid Hussain. Her life took a pivotal turn at the age of 15 when she became a mother under unimaginably challenging circumstances.

In a defining move in July 2013, she bravely stepped forward to share her evidence with The Times’ Andrew Norfolk. Her revelations led to the Alexis Jay report and the commencement of major police investigations, uncovering systemic failures and bringing to justice those who wronged Sammy and many others.
Sammy Woodhouse’s bestseller “Just A Child” encapsulates her powerful story and her relentless struggle for justice, earning her a place as a Sunday Times best-selling author. She continues her mission through her Community Interest Company, advocating for exploited children, and has spearheaded ground-breaking legislative reforms known as ‘Sammy’s Law’.
A passionate campaigner, Sammy’s work led to landmark changes in the legal system in 2023, particularly in protecting the rights of mothers and children born from sexual violence.
Most recently, Sammy presented the ground-breaking BBC documentary ‘Out of the Shadows: Born from rape’, a project that took her across the UK and to Rwanda, shedding light on the poignant stories of those born from rape and violence.
Her extensive experience and direct approach make Sammy the perfect speaker for many audiences, including law enforcement, social services, healthcare professionals, educational institutions, and corporate entities. She provides key insights into preventing and addressing grooming and exploitation.
