Clare Bailey is committed to the success and sustainability of consumer facing businesses and their supply chains.  Born into a family of retailers and entrepreneurs, she is passionate about retail and business: it is in her blood.   Gaining her working experience whilst employed by large organisations such as McDonalds and M&S, Clare’s impressive knowledge means that today all the big companies book her. They include Amazon, SAP, NFY Mutual, Groupon and 02.

Biography

Clare Bailey considers herself to be a business engineer. Someone who leverages data and information to enable business owners to make informed decisions. She helps them in designing the most suitable processes and systems to transform their businesses into scalable, saleable enterprises.

Her brand portfolio includes The Retail Champion, The Retail Conference, the Future High Street Summit and the Support for Independent Retail campaign.

In 2014, Clare became the Chairman of Sleaford Town Team, a voluntary role which utilised all her knowledge and expertise from her work with high streets and independent retailers and put this into practice in her local community.

She is an active associate member of the British Independent Retailers Association and Head Roadie for Retail and Consumer-Facing Brands with Enterprise Rockers. In addition, she has also been recognised as a real-life entrepreneur champion with the Federation of Small Businesses.

Her background in several senior retail roles alongside her experience in running her own brands has led her to become an expert in business and retail management. By consistently keeping up with business and technological advances, she understands consumer behaviour and what can make or break a retail venture.

The author of The Retail Champion: 10 Steps to Retail Success, published by Kogan Page in July 2012 Clare then wrote How to Sell to Retail: The Secrets of Getting Your Product to Market in February 2013.

Working hand in hand with that, she frequently contributes articles, columns and opinion pieces to B2B publications, offering advice and ideas to retailers who are struggling in tough trading conditions.

As well as delivering keynote speeches, providing webinars and hosting her own events, she’s a regular on Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast, Sky News, Bloomberg amongst others.  She also participates in discussions on local and national radio stations, speaking on myriad retail and consumer issues, statistics and newly released data and results.

Clare Bailey commitments also include her continued support for the Retail Trust and its ReWork programme. From 2007 to 2009 (when it was unfortunately disbanded), she was a Spark ambassador, encouraging more female entrepreneurs, as well as leading the Make Your Mark in Retail campaign.

Independent Restaurateur and Future Factory Attendee

"All Hail the New Mary, Queen of Shops! I spent an hour with Clare 1-2-1 and it's by far the most useful 60 minutes I've spent since opening my shoe shop 3 years ago. Clare has a wealth of experience and expertise with many of the top retailers in the country, but what makes her unique is her ability to translate what they do into a plan that works for small and medium sized retailers. I've now signed up to work with Clare on a regular basis as I believe that with her help I'll be able to rapidly expand my business. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!' Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, Creative."

Independent Shoe Retailer

"I've invited Clare several times to be a live guest on BBC TV news, talking about various aspects of retailing. Here's the thing - I found Clare "blind" as I was looking for an expert in her field, did some web research, and called her up. I didn't need to call anyone else - Clare impressed me straight away as someone who knew what she was talking about, and had a gift of being able to put that forward in a very accessible way. Essentially, if I want to talk to someone who knows about how things are sold and why - Clare's the person I call."
