Jeff Randall

Jeff Randall is a business journalist, formerly Business Editor of BBC News and Editor-at-Large of the Daily Telegraph. He presented Jeff Randall Live, a business and politics show on Sky News until stepping down from his role in March 2014. Jeff was also a columnist for the Daily Telegraph and is now a highly revered Awards Presenter, Event Host and conference speaker.

Jeff Randall one of the most influential business commentators of all time, and his professional yet calm approach has proven his undoubted ability as a superb facilitator. Jeff is hailed as one of the few people who can talk and write about financial matters in a language that people actually understand, which explains not only his successful career in journalism and broadcasting but also his high demand within the corporate speaking circuit.

Biography

Jeff Randall was appointed Editor-At-Large of ‘The Daily Telegraph’ in November 2005, after nearly five years as the BBC’s Business Editor.  He wrote a twice-weekly column for the newspaper, as well as continuing to present ‘Weekend Business’, a radio show on BBC Five Live.  Jeff joined the BBC from ‘Sunday Business’, which he edited from its launch in February 1998.

Under his editorship, ‘Sunday Business’ won the Sunday Newspaper of the Year Award and the Harold Wincott Award for Financial Journal of the Year.  Before launching ‘Sunday Business’, Jeff was, over a period of nine years, Assistant Editor, Sports Editor and City & Business Editor on ‘The Sunday Times’.

He was also a Director of ‘Times Newspapers’ (1994-95). Until 2014, he presented a business and politics show on Sky News called ‘Jeff Randall Live’. He also retired from journalism in 2014, became a director of Sandown Park Racecourse and a non-executive director of Babcock International.

Jeff Randall’s awards for journalism include: Harold Wincott Award for Business Broadcaster, 2004; Communicator of the Year, 2004; Sony Gold Radio Award for Best Sports Broadcast, 2003; Best Business Broadcast Prize at the Business Journalist of the Year Awards, 2003 ; Decade of Excellence Prize at the Business Journalist of the Year Awards, 2003 ; London Press Club’s Business Journalist of the Year Award, 2000; and Financial Journalist of the Year, 1991.

He was educated at the Royal Liberty Grammar School in Romford, Essex and the University of Nottingham (BA Economics). He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Anglia Ruskin University in 2001 and an honorary doctorate from the University of Nottingham in 2006.
